Blu-ray/DVD Backup or Copy

a. Full Disc Copy (rip Blu-ray Disc to BDMV, DVD to VIDEO_TS folder)
Protected DVDs and Blu-ray discs can be cracked and copied bit-to-bit onto your hard drive in the shortest time by using “Full Disc Copy” help_clip_image002_0003.jpgfacility.
help_clip_image004_0000.jpg
"Full Disc Copy" is a lossless way for ripping a Blu-ray disc or DVD to computer. The whole contents on the source disc will be copied to your hard drive, including the menus, titles, trailers, etc. Since the original DVD/ Blu-ray structure is retained, you can burn a backup disc with the structure.
After the process completed, click “Open” button to locate the DVD/ Blu-ray directory. To check the video streams, open VIDEO_TS folder (from DVD directory) or BDMV-> STREAM folder (for Blu-ray directory). Blu-ray movie bites much space (generally 20Gb at least), so make sure there is enough space on your hard drive for Blu-ray backing up before you start copying disc.

b. Directly Copy (rip Blu-ray Disc to .m2ts, DVD to .vob streams)
“Directly Copy” option copies video streams- and only the ones you select- to hard drive. You can delete/uncheck from the file list the chapters you don’t like.

Video Codec is used to compress the digital video contents. H.264 codec is recommended.

  • Video Size refers to the physical number of columns and rows of pixels creating the display (e.g., 1920×1080).
  • Video Bitrate refers to the number of bits that are conveyed per unit of time (data transfer rate). Set video bitrate up to improve video quality.
  • Video Frame rate is the rate at which sequential frames are presented. Frame rate varies according to the video standard in use. In North America and Japan, 30 frames per second is the broadcast standard, with 24fps now common in production for high-definition video.
  • Audio codec is used to compress the audio contents.
  • Audio Sample rate defines the number of samples per unit of time (usually seconds) taken from a continuous signal to make a discrete signal. In digital audio the most common sampling rates are 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, and 96 kHz.
  • Audio Bitrate refers to the data transfer rate of audio contents.
  • Audio Channels refers to the passages for audio streams to pass-through. A stereo audio has two independent channels, one left and one right while mono has one channel only. A 5.1 system provides front left, center and right, surround left and right and subwoofer. When listen to music from earphone or handset, stereo audio is just fine.
  • Save as: click to save your settings as a custom format. Name the format and click ‘OK’ to create a new format. When you'd like to use the new created format at next run, just click the format bar and find it in "Custom" group.

Reset: Click to reload the default settings.

Merge into one file: Combine all files into one when export video.

    Convert Movie for Playback

After every thing necessary was selected, you can click the button help_clip_image001_0001.jpg to start the conversion. Soon you will see the window below:
    help_clip_image003_0002.jpg

The app displays the progress information, including Time elapse, Generated size, estimated leaving time, and estimated size. You can suspend or cancel the conversion at half way. The consuming time is up to the size of generated file. When ripping Blu-ray disc, it cost much longer than standard DVD. If conversion takes very long time, you can set auto shut down by checking the box of “Shut down computer after conversion.
